From Law to Luxury and AI
Explore how one founder connects traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
Abir Majumder is an entrepreneur from Kolkata, navigating a path that weaves through law, technology, luxury commerce, cultural preservation, and agricultural innovation. With a foundation in business and law from Adamas University, Abir chose to venture beyond a conventional legal career. His analytical approach, rooted in his upbringing in a family of advocates, helped him apply structured thinking to entrepreneurship.
Building ELLOTH
In 2022, Abir founded ELLOTH, a venture aimed at integrating India's regional textiles and traditional craftsmanship into the modern digital commerce landscape. ELLOTH is not about selling clothing; it is a platform connecting regional designers and craftsmen with a global audience, emphasizing cultural value and authenticity. The business model is distinctive in its zero-deadstock approach, reducing inventory pressure and supporting artisans directly.
A Bootstrapped Ecosystem
Abir embraced a bootstrapped model for his ventures, which allowed him to maintain control over the direction and vision of his businesses. This capital-efficient strategy emphasizes execution and reinvestment, contributing to a corporate valuation between ₹3.5 crore and ₹7.5 crore.
Expanding to Agriculture
In 2026, Abir expanded his entrepreneurial focus by launching KrishiScan, an AI-driven agricultural platform under ELLOTH. This initiative aims to provide farmers with accessible agricultural and financial intelligence via smartphones, featuring AI crop diagnosis, market intelligence, and government-scheme discovery.
Making AI Accessible
KrishiScan is designed to be user-friendly for farmers, incorporating mobile and voice-first interfaces to navigate complex digital tools. It supports multiple Indian languages and aims to simplify technology for rural users, ensuring accessibility rather than creating barriers.
Bridging Tradition and Technology
Abir's ventures, ELLOTH and KrishiScan, embody a philosophy of accessibility, connecting traditional artisans and farmers with digital opportunities. His work has gained recognition, including being named among the Top 10 Visionary Brands and Companies of 2026.
A Visionary Entrepreneur
Beyond his companies, Abir contributes to the startup ecosystem as an angel investor, supporting emerging founders. His journey reflects a commitment to building systems that connect disparate worlds, from Indian craftsmanship to AI-driven agriculture, all while fostering social impact.
